Northern Orchards was one of the first commercial orchards in New York's Champlain Valley. The home farm is situated on a prominent stopping point on the Underground Railway which funneled runaway slaves to Canada prior to the Civil War. The original Northern orchard was planted to 40 acres of mostly seedling McIntosh in 1906. |
